I believe the mom has her things to do about raising a child and the dad has his things. It is hard to raise a child from a single parent or gay parents.

I find the dad has to be tough on the child, set the rules, punish the wrongdoings

The mom needs to provide tender loving care and make the child feel loved.

Though both parents have to do that, one parent is more responsible for it than the other. What do you think?

Just curious….Which one typically makes the better single parent?

Note – This question does not, in any way, mean that one has to be better than the other or treat this situation as some kind of contest. I am more concerned with finding out if fatherly or motherly parenting has a higher chance of producing properly behaved off-spring.

I am a single parent with a daughter that is "normal" and a newborn son that has Down Syndrome. For this reason I can not work at this time due to the amount of one on one attention he needs. Also believe because of his problem is th e reason his dad left. However I am looking for anyone that knows of different programs in Indiana that could possibly help me financially. It is not that I do not want to work. It is that right now I cannot work. and being on my own it is very difficult to pay everything without a job. NEED HELP? To clarify things,
1) I am not a single parent nor am I planning to attempt suicide
2) let’s say the kids have a father who lives far away, but they just happen to live with their mother who attempts.

Once the mother is released from the hospital, is she allowed to have her kids with her..?
