OK I missed work last week with this flu, but it seemed like my son wouldn’t get it. Now its Monday and he’s sick. What do single parents do when they really need to get to work? I need the money, I already missed work. I asked my friend to watch him ,she works nights but she says she can’t afford to get sick.
I am a single father interested in joining the air force or the army. The child currently lives with his mother and we were never married. His mom is willing to take full custody so I can join one of the two. However, the airforce website specifically states that single parents who give up custody just to join are not eligible. Is there any way around this? And do the same rules apply to the army? I’ve been hearing multiple answers and would like just one straight answer THANKS!

* My Mom was a single parent with my sister and I. I know she gave birth to me when she was married but I am not sure if she was married when she gave birth to my older sister.
Is the idea of a Boy/Girl growing up with a Male and a Female to identify with overrated.
My mom is gay and I gained a lot from her and just as much from my dad on what a good man should be. I don’t think I’d be here if it wasn’t for both. Now I see the new thing with same sex couples adopting or impregnating themselves and I wonder if Mother’s and Fathers are losing their importance in this world.
I guess another part of this is, will Gay parents purposely ignore/not allow the influence a man/woman can have on your child, regardless of sexual orientation?
Granted there are single parents but children usually find a coach, or camp leader some one from church of the opposite gender raising the child to learn from and identify with.

I see what you all mean, I just feel like in my teenage years I really looked to my dad for alot of things, if I just grew up with my mom without that opportunity I don’t think I would be as sucessfull and driven. I just wanted you peoples opinion. I am surprised I didn’t get alot of answers.
It seems like I get a lot of admiration for being a single father of 3 but no love. What is it about a single parent that ppl dont want to touch? is it really the kids? I was wondering because single parents would usually be faithful and responsible to you. I say usually because not all single parents are good…but in most cases they are. What would stop you from dating a single parent who is definitely over the ex other then the kids

Im doing a speech in English class on single parenting and for my conclusion I would like to say "You may think that single parenting is not a relevant topic but the odds are 10 out of 32 of you will be single parents".So can someone please tell me the odds so I can have a accurate statistic.
